World Vision is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty. It works on long-term projects that address the causes of poverty in attempts to reduce them in hopes of a brighter future and to help the people become self-sufficient. Adding to this, World Vision also helps to provide relief in emergency situations such as natural disasters.

World Vision, Australia, began in 1995 as part of the World Vision international partnership in about 100 countries across the world. It works closely with the Australian government, with full accreditation from the Australian Agency for Internation Development (AusAID) and works under the provisions and regulations set by them, as well as the Code of Conduct stipulated by the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID).

More than 350, 000 Australians
support World Vision, making it the largest charitable group in Australia and enabling them to help of 10 million people every year in the best possible ways.

World Vision aims to contribute to people’s needs in five major areas; emergency relief, education, health care, economic development, and also the promotion of justice. World Vision activities also include transformational development, emergency relief, strategic initiatives, public awareness campaigns and promoting Christianity.

World Vision was active in the following countries in 2004:
